1. Think about rivals (sports teams, etc). What is the biggest showdown you’ve seen between two rivals?

2. Read 1 Kings 18:20-46. Elijah challenged the people to stop limping between God and idols. What "modern Baals" do you find yourself trusting in to save or secure your future?

3. The prophets of Baal cut themselves, thinking their pain and performance would earn their god's attention. Why do we so often try to "bleed" (through perfectionism, overworking, or guilt) to earn the love and salvation that Christ has already freely bought for us?

4. How do we see the power of the true God in this narrative?
